What we decided, and why.
Brutalist SPA over CMS
We chose Vite + React SPA so every route renders instantly on the client, with zero CMS latency. The deliberately raw, high-contrast aesthetic — thick borders, uppercase type, aggressive red — was a conscious brand decision, not a shortcut. It communicates intensity before a single word is read.
GSAP Marquees, not carousels
Infinite-loop marquees let equipment names and trainer callouts flow continuously with no dead clicks or pagination. The kinetic energy mirrors the gym floor. Under the hood they're CSS-driven with GSAP for precision timing — no IntersectionObserver polling, no layout jank.
Single design token for theming
One `--accent` CSS custom property flows from the root through every component. The gym can rebrand to any colour with one line changed. This also lets us scope per-project accent overrides in the portfolio without global stylesheet conflicts.
